Senior actor-filmmaker Imtiaz Khan passed away in Mumbai on Monday. He was 77. Imtiaz was the brother of late actor Amjad Khan and son of yesteryear actor Jayant. He is survived by his wife Krutika Desai, a popular film and television actress, and daughter Ayesha Khan.


BT spoke to Krutika, who said, “It all happened so suddenly that I don’t even know what I am feeling. Imtiaz complained of breathlessness on Monday, following which our family doctor visited him. He was given some medicines and soon after, he complained of severe shoulder pain. The doctor then gave him an injection. When I came back to the bedroom after seeing off the doctor, he looked at me and said, ‘Kuka, I am going’. And that was it, he passed away peacefully.”
