After keeping the audience waiting for more than three years, Akshay Kumar is finally back with the fourth installment of his successful comedy franchise 'Housefull'. The latest part reunites him with Ritiesh Deshmukh and features an ensemble star cast including Kriti Sanon, Kriti Kharbanda, Bobby Deol, and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles. Housefull
The first installment of the comedy franchise was helmed by Sajid Khan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The film hit the screens on April 30, 2010, in 1700 screens. The film starred Akshay Kumar, Ritiesh Deshmukh, Deepika Padukone, Lara Dutta, Arjun Rampal among others in the lead roles.
The film took off to a brilliant start, collecting Rs 9.32 crore on its opening day at the box office. The film went on to rake in a total of Rs 30.97 crore in its first weekend at the box office and recorded Rs 47.35 crore in its first week. 'Housefull' did a lifetime business of Rs 72.24 crore nett and grossed $ 4 million in the overseas market.
Housefull 2
Director Sajid Khan and producer Sajid Nadiadwala reunited again for the second installment of the film after a gap of two years for the second installment of the film. 'Housefull 2' hit the screens on April 6, 2012, and released across 2650 screens. The film boasted of an ensemble star cast featuring Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Riteish Deshmukh, Shreyas Talpade, Asin, Jacqueline Fernandez among others in the lead roles.
'Housefull 2' has been the most successful film in the franchise so far. The film recorded a double-digit opening figure collecting Rs 12.19 crore on its first day at the box office. The film then went on to rake in Rs 40.24 crore in the subsequent weekend and collected around Rs 61.75 crore in its first week at the box office. 'Housefull 2' did a lifetime business of Rs 111.79 crore nett at the box office and grossed $ 6.7 million in the overseas market.
Housefull 3
Farhad Samji and Sajid Khan came together to direct the third installment of the popular comedy franchise, backed again this time by Sajid Nadiadwala. 'Housefull 3' hit the screens on June 3rd, 2016 and release across 3650 screens. The film featured an ensemble star cast of Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri, Lisa Haydon, Jackie Shroff among others.
'Housefull 3' opened to a brilliant first-day collection of Rs 15.24 crore, hitting the double digits on the first day itself. The film then went on to rake in Rs 53.27 crore in its first weekend and did a subsequent first week on Rs 80.02 crore. The film hit Rs 100 crore mark in its second week. 'Housefull 3' did a lifetime business of Rs 108.07 crore nett and gross $ 6.6 million in the overseas market.
The trailer of 'Housefull 4' is all set to be launched today on September 27. The film is slated to hit the screens this Diwali on October 26, 2019. The Akshay Kumar starrer is slated to clash with Rajkummar Rao's 'Made In China' at the box office.
