FROM IMAGE TO ANIMATION

How to create an animated ASCII image

Turn a photo, illustration or SVG into a moving picture made from text characters. This tool creates an animation from an uploaded image; it accepts JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF and SVG artwork.

  1. Upload your artwork. Start with an image with a clear subject and strong contrast.
  2. Adjust the ASCII style. Choose character density, colors, output size, duration and motion. Higher density shows more detail; lower density makes the characters easier to see.
  3. Generate and download. Export an MP4 for video playback, a GIF for a looping animation, or a transparent GIF when you need an animation without a solid background.

For a cleaner result, use a simple background and keep small text out of the source image. GIF supports limited colors, so MP4 can be a better choice for detailed artwork.
